Welcome to the Pro Audio category at Pro Audio Supply. So, what is pro audio and how is it different from what I might buy at my local consumer electronics store? In a broad sense, the pro audio category contains everything from amplifiers and equalizers, to turntables, speakers, CD players and recording apparatus. While it is true that many big-box houses will offer CD players, turntables and the like, their pro audio counterparts will be built to the demanding specifications required by professionals.
This means for instance, that if you were to buy a CD player from your local big-box house, it would not be expected to survive the rigors of day-to-day use for long. A professional CD player on the other hand, can be expected to serve in a broadcast facility at a radio station for years without issues. Similarly, nightclubs, theaters, bowling centers and other entertainment venues absolutely require professional audio grade equipment. Here's another way to look at, if it absolutely has to work every time, buy a piece of professional grade equipment.
